How Much Does a Custom Trade Show Booth Cost in 2026?

What actually drives the number on an exhibit quote — footprint, materials, graphics, and the show-services line items most first-time exhibitors forget.

Start with footprint, not features

Booth pricing scales with square footage before it scales with anything else. A 10×10 inline is a single back wall, a counter, and a light package. An island has four open sides, which means finished backs on every element, a hanging sign, and rigging coordination with the venue.

Placeholder ranges we quote against today: $X,XXX for a 10×10, $XX,XXX for a 10×20, and $XX,XXX+ for a 20×20 or larger island. Final numbers move with materials and how much of the program we manage.

Materials move the number more than people expect

A Baltic birch and MDF structure with laminate faces costs differently than powder-coated steel framing with machined aluminum extrusion and SEG tension fabric. CNC routing is efficient for repeatable panels and dimensional logos; hand-built millwork with veneer and finish work is not.

LED integration — backlit walls, edge-lit signage, video wall framing — adds both material cost and engineering time, because the structure has to carry and conceal power.

Budget for show services, not just the booth

Freight, drayage (material handling), electrical, rigging, and I&D labor are billed by the show and the venue, not by your exhibit house. Drayage alone is priced by hundredweight and is the single most common surprise on a first invoice.

We quote the build and estimate the show-services side separately so the two are never confused in your budget approval.

Where the money comes back

A custom build amortizes across shows. If you exhibit three or more times a year, per-show cost drops fast — especially if the structure is designed from day one to reconfigure from an island down to a 20×20 or 10×20.

Refurbishment between seasons — new graphics, refinished counters, updated lighting — is a fraction of a new build and keeps the program looking current.
